JA Innovation Camp High
At the Innovation Camp (sometimes also called Innovation Challenge, 24-hour Camp etc.) students gather in order to address a specific business challenge to come up with ideas which would solve the problem.
Head Start meets the needs of a diverse group of students by providing engaging, academically enriching, and experiential learning sessions in work-readiness education and career perspectives.
Following are the sessions of the program:
Session 1: Writing Your Resume
This module covers résumé writing. It includes tips on writing a powerful cover letter and a powerful résumé. It also includes tips on tackling résumé problems.
Session 2: Interviewing
This session introduces participants to the science and art of interviewing. Through a series of exercises, participants will become knowledgable of the major skills and behaviors associated with successful interviewing. Participants will find that such skills are key to giving a lasting first impression that will significantly increase their hiring potential in today’s increasingly competitive job market.
Session 3: The Internship
This session introduces participants to internships, what they mean, how to prepare well for a good internship, and how to handle work duties in an internship. The session invites participants to choose internships that are not only rewarding in the short-run but that also fit their long-term career objectives.
Ripples of Happiness
Ripples of Happiness is an educational program with a primary emphasis on social responsibility, entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, and workplace readiness. Students design community service projects that will make their communities a better place and spread "Ripples of Happiness" throughout the neighborhoods they live in. Students explore career interets and opportunities, and learn work readiness skills like project planning, time management, team work, budgeting, reporting, communication skills, and leadership skills among many others.
Through hands-on activities, ROH fosters social responsibility in students as they prepare to enter the workforce and take part in the global marketplace and community. Following participation in the program, students will be able to:
- Identify opportunities for positive development in their respective communities.
- Respond to opportunities with innovative solutions.
- Plan, organize, and finance socially responsible projects in their communities.
- Learn social networking, group work, problem solving, planning, organizing, financial literacy and creativity.
- Gain skills in IT, marketing, philanthropy, and public relations.
The INJAZ Al-Arab Start-Up Program
INJAZ Start-Up offers a hands-on structured and supportive approach to nurturing the entreprenuerial skills and creative mindsets of youth, and in doing so, contributed to the economic development of their countries. The program helps launch innovative entreprenuerial team ventures. It offers successful teams of 4-6 members, a combination of seed funding, 20 hours of professional mentoring and incubation over a six month period. Participation involves a rigorous selection process to ensure readiness and suitability, and upon completion, participants will be on their way to registering a viable enterprise to grow.
Green Entrepreneurship (GREENT)
Green Entrepreneurship (GREENT) is a collection of educational tools that support teachers in fostering a “sustainability-conscious entrepreneurial mindset” in their high school students through the usage of blended learning resources. The program contains 36 lessons in a manual that teachers can use in order to prepare the delivery of each lesson. The materials have been developed as part of an EU Erasmus+ project in collaboration between JA Bulgaria, JA Greece, JA Latvia, JA Norway (Sogn og Fjordane), and JA Romania. A key innovation is the participation of teams of teachers in each country who also participated in the creation of the lessons.
