Entrepreneurs in front of the classroom

In OvK entrepreneurs share their experiences from real life with the young people. During a presentation they get the chance to introduce their company and the reason why they started it. After this, students can ask questions about the job of an entrepreneur.


Business Startup

The INJAZ Business Start Up Program will contribute to the social and economic development, and political stability of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by engaging the talent of today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders to create and innovate entrepreneurial solutions to local, regional and international socio-economic and political challenges.  


Creatlon

Creatlon consists of 3 parts.

1.  Obtaining knowledge in economics and entrepreneurship - quiz in Moodle.

2. Team exercise - 5 team tasks to fulfil in 1 month (Job shadowing, volunteering and writing about it, making a travel plan with prizes, etc.)

3. Creative task - a video, business fairy tale, advertisement, etc.

Engineering Trainee Days

The students follow an engineer or scientist during 2 days. They get to realise which skills are needed in those 2 sectors. This program helps students to choose en engineering domain and gives them information on various specialisations.


JA Lights of OUR Future

This program aims to instill the values & behavior of sustainable living. These include a series of classroom learning and hands-on activities on the following topics:

1. What is Sustainable Living (Everyone is looking for a better quality of life despite the increasing population globally. Is there enough resources for all?)

  1. Water is a limited resource (Why and what is being done?)

  2. What is Energy and how do we reduce electricity consumption

  3. Greenhouse Gas effects

  4. Waste Management

  5. Conclusion (Bringing all the topics together)

Practical Learnings for Students:

Through the session, we also help students:

  • ·  Understand the environmental challenges society faces today and identify them in their daily lives

  • ·  Learn & observe how Science is used to design solutions in the real world

  • ·  Practice brainstorming and out-of-box thinking to suggest new solutions or improve existing practices to solve challenges in their daily environment

  • ·  Link sustainability to financial impact

  • ·  Initiate conversations on the roles they can play to reduce their environmental footprint

JA Talk Show

An Interactive JA Talk Show features two guests/speakers from ExxonMobil Singapore to share their life and work experience with the students. It provides a good exposure for the students as they can interact with industry professionals and ask questions.

Its the combination of JA-MFM  (Mini Factory Model) and JA-WIN (Work and Interest) that was offered as a one-off intervention for the transition into the Waterfall model.

Hotel Economy

A course that introduces learners to the economy of the hotel industry. They familiarize with the basic economic indices of activity of a modern hotel and learn to understand, diagnose, and optimize the yield of a hotel.


Hotel Management

A learning course that acquaint its participants with basic principles, tools, policies, and main indices of effectiveness of modern hotel management.


JATm Basics of Business for Young Farmers

A course developed by specialists of JA Turkmenistan specially to give practical assistance to young residents of rural area who wish to start a business in agro-industrial complex. The program explains the basics of market economy and entrepreneurship in respect to agricultural and livestock sector of Turkmenistan. It also gives practical recommendations and review of agriculture-related legislation of Turkmenistan. 


Entrepreneurship Academy Programme

The JA South Africa Entrepreneurship Academy Programme - a seven to eight month long programme for grades 10 – 12, with weekly sessions of three hours each, incorporating entrepreneurial, financial literacy and workplace readiness programmes, as well as micro-economics and business ethics. 

 


Girls Enterprise Program

Girls Enterprise Program is a specific program for girls who are drawn from schools and out of school young girls within 16-18 years. The program aims to teach them entreprenuership and skill acquisition in areas of interest. Skiils such as photography, computer acquisition, pastry making etc are taught.

The programme aims at helping young people understand the key concepts of business. Provides practical information about the key aspects of the global economy and the company economics. The programme also shows how trade affects students’ daily live. This program is only for teachers who have a program in educational curricula.

JA Assembling Your Career Spain

This program promotes the valuable involvement of teachers and corporate volunteers, to engage students aged from 14 to 18 in STEM careers.

 Students review the factors to consider when researching high-growth careers: personal interests, education and training levels, and work environment. In this respect, they are able to increase their awareness of careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Make the connection between what interests them, what they are studying in school, and the opportunities available.

 They also explore multiple careers representative of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. They participate in simulated workplace activities.

Entrepreneurs in the service of humanity

Entrepreneurs in the service of humanity is a teaching material that tells the story about Alfred Nobel; his legacy, research, invention of dynamite and the Nobel Prize.


JA Inside Industry - Study Circle

The Program is directed at students in the Grades of IX and X. Industry Interest Study Circle provides practical information about preparing students for the working world. Students learn about career clusters, high-growth jobs, career planning, and creating a personal brand.

The Study Circle aims to get students from various schools with same Interest Group under one roof and allow them to explore the industry in greater detail. Post that, the students will interact with industry practitioners covering various aspects of the industry. The students will understand their SEEK (Skills, Education, Experience, Knowledge) of the various roles and also get to understand through the journey of these professionals, the challenges, achievements and joys of this profession. 

Our first two Industry Interest Study Circle were centred on music at the True School of Music. Where students interacted and experienced the world of work around music. We recently conducted our third study circle at LIC of India, Divisional Office at Mumbai which was focussed on Insurance. We had employees interacting with students on various aspects of insurance industry. We also conducted fourth study circle with GE Healthcare.

 

After the successful execution of these circles we plan to expand our program to various other fields like Architecture, Fashion, Design, Airline, Hospitality, Engineering, Arts etc. in the upcoming months.

Assembling Your Career - Argentina

The Assembling Your Career Program promotes the involvement of teachers, volunteers, and students in Junior Achievement programs to inspire them to pursue careers related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The activities proposed in the Volunteer and Teacher Handbook and the online tools provide students with hands-on information on the STEM professions and how to prepare for careers with a high demand for professionals.
