Entrepreneurs in front of the classroom

In OvK entrepreneurs share their experiences from real life with the young people. During a presentation they get the chance to introduce their company and the reason why they started it. After this, students can ask questions about the job of an entrepreneur.


Steer Your Career High School Kuwait

Steer Your Career targets university students, in their third or fourth year, aiming at honing the skills needed to eventually find a job and operate effectively in a competitive job environment.  The different sessions cover aspects of leadership, time management, communication, team dynamics, and job search skills.   Through hands-on classroom activities, personal assessments, role playing, and reflection exercises, Steer Your Career helps students function successfully in today’s workplace.

JA Business Skills Pass Program

The JA Business Skills Pass Program (BSP) is specifically designed to supplement student’s learning in the key business subjects under the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) track. Its well-researched components is created and patterned on some 21st century skills requirements, following international standards, and more importantly to prepare the JA/DepEd Business Simulation program. Designed with specific needs of upper grade students in mind, BSP provides useful and practical content to equip students in their transition to becoming productive and contributing members of the society. This will also provide them with the necessary skills to create and manage an enterprise and prepare them for tertiary education in business.
 


Excellence through Ethics - Korea High

Junior Achievement’s Excellence through Ethics offers students learning opportunities to share knowledge and information regarding ethics in business. JA strives to show students how business works, and to better evaluate organizations that conduct their operations in the right way.

Excellence through Ethics is designed to equip volunteers and teachers with supplemental, ethics-based activities for use with JA in-class programs for grades four through twelve. All these activities provide students with current and essential information about business ethics.
These activities are designed to reinforce students’ knowledge and skills, teach them how to make ethical decisions, assist them in learning to think critically, and help them to be better problem-solvers. All the activities are hands-on, interactive, and group-focused to present the material to students with the best instructional methods.

JA Ethics and Business

JA Ethics and Business program is one year long program focused on help students understand their ethical decision making not only in the entrepreneurial area. That way young people learn to apply ethical approach in everyday life and later in the world of work as well.

Inclusive Workplace

The program is an extended activity to the Company program where the teacher invites a local representative from NHO to hold a lecture for the students about roles and regulations i real work life. NHO is the main representative organization for Norwegian employers with companies ranging from small family-owned businesses to multi-national companies.

After the lecture, they discuss how this can be implemented in their mini company. Finely the students wright an agreement that all the students in the company signs.

In charge!

“In charge!” gives students an understanding of the choices they already do today, has great significance for their opportunities later in life. If they imagine that they will again be able to buy a separate housing, it is necessary to have an awareness of their own
economy and see the value of long-term savings. Throughout the program, students are put in different choice situations that highlight the consequences of their own choices relating to
educational and career paths and their personal finances.
“In charge!” is built around a digital platform that shows how
consumption choices affect the possibility of saving up to by your own place to live later in life.

Work Readiness Workshop

JA Work Readiness Workshop aims to:

  • Inspire students to plan for their future career development through sharing of experiences and real-life cases on work readiness by business volunteers
  • Demonstrate the value of education for their future success
  • Introduce students to various skills, qualities, attitudes and characters so as to help them prepare themselves in joining the workforce

Work Readiness Summer School

JA Work Readiness Summer School is a customized career and life planning program for sub-degree students and senior secondary school students who may go to the world of work or pursue vocational studies after HKDSE (the public examination for Hong Kong secondary students). With the support from over 10 employer parnters from various industries/sectors, the program will be particularly relevant to students interested in design, engineering, entertainment, fire and ambulance services, hospitality, information & communications technology and retail. The month-long summer program comprised a mini job fair, success skills workshops, an entrepreneurship workshop, work experience at one of the employer partners, and a graduation day with sharings by role models, career & life planning advice from educators and HR experts, and mentoring by business volunteers. Participants learned about education paths and career opportunities available to them, and developed their education and career plans through the extended mentorship program.

Dialogue with Gen Y Leaders

Gen Y leaders are taking the reins of the 21st century workforce. JA Dialogue with Gen Y leaders enables students to learn from young role models, the leadership and life skills required of them from their future managers. The Gen Y leader will share his/her career path, role models, expectations of a good team member and advise students how to plan their career.

Youth Development Program

JA Youth Development Program provides an extended and progressive learning experience in three phases for participating students to equip themselves with essential career life skills for their success in the future workplace. After participation in JA Success Skills workshops, selected students will proceed with the extended learning opportunities of workplace immersion, workplace experience, group project challenge, learning reflection as well as sharing and dialogue with young leaders.

Professional and Business Development of Regional Youth

Professional and Business Development of Regional Youth provided its participants the opportunity to develop their professional skills and economic and entrepreneurial skills in order to gain success in the careers. It aims to obtain skills and knowledge which are necessary in running a private business affair.  The project is composed of  two main components: 1. Business training and 2. Student business day. 

Stage 1: Business Training

  • Training phase: Students are trained on financial literacy, success skills and company program.
  • Initiate a Business Plan: Students review the company's business strategies and create business, product, financial and marketing plans. They will learn to develop their leadership skills, write and implement business plans, and create sales goals for their products.

Stage 2: "Student Business Day"

  • Trade Fair Stand - Students get to present their product/ service to the panel of judge and the public.
  • Business Plan Presentation - The business plan presentation summaries the key experiences and achievements of the students' company.
